Children love to express their creativity, how can you use creativity to learn God’s Word?

孩子们喜欢表达创意,你如何运用创意引导他们去学习神的话语呢?

Craft time gives children a creative way to interact with Biblical truths. A well-planned and age-appropriate craft that makes room for creativity will be a fun way for God’s Word to be planted in our children’s minds and hearts.

手工时间为孩子们提供了一种创造性的方式,与圣经教导的真理互动。一个计划充分、年龄适当并有发挥创造力空间的手工,将会是一种有趣的方式,可以让神的话语在我们孩子的思想和心中生根发芽。

Connecting the craft to the story
将手工与圣经故事联系起来

The craft should be closely connected to the Bible study or theme and serves as a reinforcement for the main goal of the daily lesson.

手工应当与圣经学习或相关主题紧密相连,并作为日常课程主要教导目标的强化。

Craft should be simple and age appropriate
手工应当简单并与年龄相匹配

The craft should be simple enough to be completed in class. Leaders should consider the abilities of the children especially paying attention to their fine motor skill abilities. The leader should be able to explain the craft in simple steps that the children can easily follow.

手工应该足够简单,可以在课堂上完成。主领应考虑孩子的能力,特别要注意他们的精细运动技能。在解释手工制作步骤时要简单,孩子们容易理解和操作。

Make room for creativity
创造力空间

A good craft makes room for children to express their own creativity. Children should be able to follow directions but also be able to make their own creative decisions.

好的手工给孩子们足够的空间去发挥自己创意。在整个手工环节里,既要有按部就班的过程,也要留有足够的空白让孩子们自由发挥。

Steps to an organized craft time
手工环节的筹备步骤

1. Prepare all supplies before class
课前准备好所有所需材料

2. Plan where the children will do the craft
计划好孩子们在哪里做手工

3. Show example of the completed craft to the children
向孩子们展示已完成的手工样品

4. Connect the craft to the Bible story or theme but do not retell the story
将手工与圣经故事或主题联系起来,但不要重述故事

5. Organize steps to teach children:
按步骤来教导孩子:

a. Explain and demonstrate all steps at the beginning
首先说明示范所有的制作步骤

b. Explain and demonstrate steps as the children create the craft (for multi-step craft)
在孩子们创造制作手工过程中,进一步示范说明 (适用多步骤的手工)

c. Use I do – we do – you do
按照“我做-我们做-你做”的顺序进行教学

6. Plan how and when to hand out supplies (do not hand them out until after the explanation)
计划好手工材料发放的方式和时间(步骤解释说明完之后再派发)

7. Ask children to help serve by passing out supplies
请孩子们参与帮忙派发手工材料

8. Anticipate difficulties or messes and plan ahead, think of how to minimize a big mess (example: prepare wet wipes, or paper plates as place mats for easy clean up)
预见到困难或混乱,提前计划并想好如何尽量减小脏乱的发生(例如:准备湿纸巾或纸盘作为放置垫便于清理)

9. Children must write names on craft
孩子们需要将名字写在他们的手工上

10. Everyone helps to clean up
请所有人帮忙清理现场

11. If children need to finish the craft at home, prepare plastic bags
如果孩子们需要回家完成手工,提前预备塑料袋装好材料

Allowing children to express their creativity as they learn more about God the Creator is a delightful way to grow in faith. And when the crafts are finished, kids can tell their friends and family members about what they have made and retell the stories and truths they have learned!

手工环节让孩子们在发挥创意的同时更深地认识我们的造物主天父,这是一个很好的帮助他们信心成长与建立的方式。与此同时,孩子们也可以拿着自己做好的手工,向他们的好朋友和家人们展示,并讲述他们所学习到的故事和真理。
