When people see you, do they wonder about Jesus and have a desire to know more?

当人们看到你时,他们会对Ye Su好奇吗?他们会想要了解更多吗?

As Jesus is getting closer and closer to accomplishing His mission, He is getting closer and closer to the cross. There is an intensity that is building and people are responding.

当Ye Su离完成祂的使命越来越近时,祂也离十字架越来越近。有一种强烈的情绪正在形成,人们正在作出反应。

Jesus was intentional about all He did. He knew that this entrance into Jerusalem was going to be different from any other entrance He had ever made. He was going to make a bold statement about His identity and it was going to unsettle the entire city.

Ye Su所作的一切都有着深层次的意图。祂知道这次进入耶路撒冷跟祂以往任何一次进入耶路撒冷都会不一样,祂准备大胆声明自己的身份,而这个声明会让整个城市陷入不安。

On the streets

“As they approached Jerusalem and came to Bethphage on the Mount of Olives, Jesus sent two disciples, saying to them, “Go to the village ahead of you, and at once you will find a donkey tied there, with her colt by her. Untie them and bring them to me. If anyone says anything to you, say that the Lord needs them, and he will send them right away.” This took place to fulfill what was spoken through the prophet: “Say to Daughter Zion, ‘See, your king comes to you, gentle and riding on a donkey, and on a colt, the foal of a donkey.’ ” The disciples went and did as Jesus had instructed them. They brought the donkey and the colt and placed their cloaks on them for Jesus to sit on. A very large crowd spread their cloaks on the road, while others cut branches from the trees and spread them on the road. The crowds that went ahead of him and those that followed shouted, “Hosanna to the Son of David!” “Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord!” “Hosanna in the highest heaven!” When Jesus entered Jerusalem, the whole city was stirred and asked, “Who is this?” The crowds answered, “This is Jesus, the prophet from Nazareth in Galilee.””

The reactions varied from jubilation at the victorious entrance of the Messiah to confusion about the identity of this man riding the donkey. By the end of the procession, everyone in Jerusalem must have heard the name: “Jesus of Nazareth”.

众人反应各不相同,有人欢庆Mi Sai Ya胜利归来,也有人疑惑这骑着驴驹的人是谁。到了队伍结束后,所有在耶路撒冷的人肯定都听到“拿撒勒人Ye Su”的名。

Some knew who Jesus was and hailed Him as king. Others were curious about who this man was. No one was apathetic. The whole city was stirred.

有些人知道Ye Su是谁并敬拜祂为王,有些人则好奇这人是谁。没有人无动于衷,整个城市都被惊动了。

The people in Jerusalem that week are not unlike the people of the world today. On the streets, some knew who Jesus was, others did not. Those who knew Him were proclaiming His kingship and their need for Him resulting in the onlookers wanting to know more. Does your life proclaim His kingship and your need for Him? When people see you, do they wonder about Jesus and have a desire to know more?

那个星期在耶路撒冷的人们跟现代世界的人们并没有什么不同。在街上,有些人知道Ye Su是谁,有些人不知道。那些认识祂的人在宣告祂的王权,和他们对祂的需要,以至于观望的人们也想要了解更多。你的生活宣告了祂的主权和你对祂的需要吗?当人们看到你时,他们会对Ye Su好奇吗?他们会想要了解更多吗?

In the temple
在圣殿

The drama continues as Jesus enters the temple courts. Buyers and sellers alike were driven out. The blind and the lame are healed on the spot and children are shouting prophetic proclamations. Chief priests and teachers of the law are indignant.

当Ye Su进入圣殿时,这场戏剧还在继续。做买卖的人都被赶了出去,盲人和瘸子在那里被治好了,孩子们在呼喊预言性的宣告,祭司长和文士很生气。

“Jesus entered the temple courts and drove out all who were buying and selling there. He overturned the tables of the money changers and the benches of those selling doves. “It is written,” he said to them, “ ‘My house will be called a house of prayer,’ but you are making it ‘a den of robbers.’” The blind and the lame came to him at the temple, and he healed them. But when the chief priests and the teachers of the law saw the wonderful things he did and the children shouting in the temple courts, “Hosanna to the Son of David,” they were indignant. “Do you hear what these children are saying?” they asked him. “Yes,” replied Jesus, “have you never read, “ ‘From the lips of children and infants you, Lord, have called forth your praise’ ?” And he left them and went out of the city to Bethany, where he spent the night.”

Ye Su进f了神的殿,赶出殿里一切做买卖的人,推倒兑换银钱之人的桌子,和卖鸽子之人的凳子, 对他们说:“经上记着说:我的殿必称为祷告的殿,你们倒使它成为贼窝了。”在殿里有瞎子、瘸子到Ye Su跟前,他就治好了他们。 祭司长和文士看见Ye Su所行的奇事,又见小孩子在殿里喊着说:“和散那归于大卫的子孙!”就甚恼怒, 对他说:“这些人所说的,你听见了吗?”Ye Su说:“是的。经上说‘你从婴孩和吃奶的口中完全了赞美’的话,你们没有念过吗?” 于是离开他们,出城到伯大尼去,在那里住宿。

There was an interesting mix of characters mingling in the temple courts that day. Buyers, sellers, the lame, the blind, chief priests, teachers of the law and surprisingly – children. Buyers, sellers and religious leaders were strongly rebuked by Jesus. The blind and lame were met with compassion and the praising children were validated by Jesus.

那天在圣殿里各类人混杂其中很有趣。有买家、卖家、瘸子、盲人、祭司长、文士等人物,令人意外的是,还有小孩子。做买卖的人和宗教领袖都被Ye Su强烈谴责,盲人和瘸子都被Ye Su怜悯以待,发出赞美的小孩子们被Ye Su肯定。

Walking into the temple, His Father’s house, Jesus exercised His rightful authority. He restored the temple to its original purpose: prayer, cleansing, healing and praise. The lame could walk, blind could see and He welcomed and defended the boisterous praise of the kids.

走进圣殿,祂父亲的圣所,Ye Su行使祂应有的权柄,祂恢复了圣殿的最初用途:祷告,洁净,治愈和赞美。瘸子可以走路,盲人得以看见,祂也欢迎和捍卫孩子们喧闹的赞美之声。

When Jesus left that day to have a good night’s sleep in Bethany, He left a polarized city. On one side were the crowds and children announcing His kingship and those who had just been healed. On the other side were the indignant religious leaders and upset business people. In the middle were the confused residents who didn’t yet know who this incredible man was.

当那天Ye Su离开前往伯大尼去过夜时,祂离开的是一个两级分化的城市。一面是宣告祂主权的众人和孩童,还有那些刚被治愈的人们。另一面是气愤的宗教领袖和不悦的生意人。中间是那些疑惑的居民,他们还不知道这位不可思议的人是谁。

If you were in Jerusalem on that day, where would you find yourself in this melee? Could you see yourself joining in the unashamed cheering of the crowd or the abandoned joyful shouting of the kids? Would you be one of the lame or blind coming to Him for healing and sight? Or would you be confused at the celebration, irritated by the shouting or trying to gain something for yourself on the side?

如果那天你在耶路撒冷,你会在混乱人群中的哪一方?你会看到自己加入众人公然无惧的欢呼中或者孩子们放纵不羁的喜乐呼喊中吗?你会是向Ye Su寻求治愈的瘸子或者盲人吗?或者你会为这场欢庆感到疑惑,被吵闹声惹怒,又或者打算从中为自己谋取利益吗?

Emotions and tensions were building as Jesus returned to the comfort of the home of His dear friends Mary, Martha and Lazarus. This was just the beginning of an intense week that would change the history of the world.

当Ye Su回到祂亲爱的朋友马利亚、马大和拉撒路舒适的家中时,诸多情绪和紧张也正在积聚。接下来紧张的一周即将改变全世界的历史,这仅仅是开始而已。
